THE SITUATION

In planning for the future, companies must be willing to understand the complexity of our global economy, and be able to position themselves to attract and retain the workers they will need to continue moving forward. It is inevitable that companies will face several challenges from both the future workforce and from the changing nature of work itself. As a result, HR Administrators and HR managers will need to think ahead by understanding the major obstacles of demographics, technological and societal shifts, and help to enable and empower others and the local communities to prepare accordingly. Sweeping demographic changes across both the developed and developing world will place greater pressure on both the government and private sector to initiate and implement creative solutions to educate, integrate and retain a rapidly changing and diverse working population. Hundreds of millions of women are predicted to pour into the global workforce in the upcoming years, temporary and part-time workers are a significant and seemingly permanent fixture, companies need to adapt further to a new breed of employee. When you add the issues of a multi-generational workforce and growing cultural diversity, it is no surprise that people management is one of the most substantial challenges facing companies in the future.

One of the volunteer programs we offer will provide you with an opportunity to become a coordinator at a youth resource center. As a volunteer, your responsibility may include all or some of the following tasks: selection and training other leaders in the community to become helpers or mentors and assist them to ensure they are performing their duties well. Regular contact with the parents and school teachers. Responsible for the maintenance and repair work of the centers. Maintaining the stock of supplies for daily work at these centers. Leading meetings within the youth centers and teaching classes, workshops and activities with the older students. Active communication with coordinators and directors of other youth centers in the surrounding area and keeping them informed about activities at the village. To remember and remind others the main objectives of the youth center and to make sure the center is running efficiently. These are just an example of the ways you can get involved and start making a impact and a difference.
